After a few too many beers on New Years Eve my friend took up the challenge of riding from the most Northerly point in Europe (Nordkapp) to the most southerly point in Africa (Cape Town). He wanted to a) get out of the office b) raise some money for MAG - a land mine charity. Despite having very little experience of riding a bike he quit his job and set off on his travels in April.
6 months of pedal pushing later he's currently in Ethiopia - his bike in bits and not very much money left to keep going! He's keeping a blog on http://www.kapp2cape.com/ and if you fancy being generous and giving to a worthy cause I think he deserves it! There's a link on his website to donate.
